Last night, we got our hands on a few fortune cookies, and inside my son's was this quote from Confucius. After reading it, he ran into my room to share his newfound wisdom with me, his little mind blown.

What a great lesson for both a 10-year-old and us, as adults and leaders. Organizations are so often in a hurry to get past one initiative and onto the next that we don't make plans to do things thoroughly. Great change management and transformation planning from the start helps to ensure we see things through. The project isn't over until all the benefits are realized, but we often treat go-live as the end.

Let’s shift our mindset from a "trust the process" approach—which often leads to resistance and lack of benefits realization—to one that embraces the depth of change. Let's plan to be thorough from the start.
